Are you ready to explore one of VW’s classiest sedans, the 2023 Arteon?

This premium hatchback is in the same class as Nissan Maxima, Dodge Charger, and Chrysler 300, and surpasses all of them, according to critics at Car and Driver. Let’s find out what makes this one of the best family sedans on the road.

2023 VW Arteon

  • New Additions & Turbocharged Engine Performance
    • This year’s Arteon version doesn’t have too many major renovations, but there were a few noteworthy enhancements. Its LED headlights are standard across all three trims, as are heated steering wheels, and the SEL R-Line edition comes with 20-inch wheels.
    • As usual, this series packs some pretty decent engine power thanks to its 300-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Arteon reaches 60 mph within 4.6 seconds and can cover a quarter of a mile within 13 seconds at 103 mph.
  • Competitive Fuel Economy
    • While some cars sacrifice fuel economy in the pursuit of engine prowess, that’s not so with the new Arteon. This sedan gets pretty respectable fuel efficiency: 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. That drops a little if you get the all-wheel-drive version (22 mpg city; 31 mpg highway).
  • Interior Comfort & Storage
    • The Arteon won’t disappoint you if you’re in the market for a sedan with decent leg space and room for cargo. When you open the hatchback, you’ll find 27 cubic feet of trunk space, good enough to fit almost 10 suitcases inside. For drivers who want an extra layer of luxury and comfort, the SEL Premium trim has special front seat ventilation, driver-side massage, and heated rear seats. That version also has the crisp Black Carbon interior trim.
  • Safety & Tech Features
    • The Arteon carries all the latest infotainment and safety technology you would expect from a premium sedan. In addition to plenty of standard features, you can upgrade for more through Volkswagen’s Car-Net subscription service. That gives you a few additional driving aids like remote vehicle unlocking and emergency assistance. The SEL Premium version comes with top-shelf audio equipment from Harman/Kardon.
